Enrichment Explained
Enrichment coming in many different styles; age, breed, and generally what your dog likes to do to tire them out! ๐ค
This is important if your dog's favorite thing hypes them up or they don't seem tired afterwards change it up. If a walk doesn't tire them out practice having your dog check in on you after a certain number of steps or scatter some treats in long grass for your dog to scavenge for! ๐
It's up to your dog as to what they find enriching! ๐งก
๐Social: This doesn't mean play all the time. Most dogs will benefit more from walking by a dog or relaxing in the grass as people, kids and dogs move around them.
๐Nutritional: Usually every dogs favorite. Stuff some peppers or scatter your dogs dinner on the floor.
๐ Occupational: Give your dog a job. Join an agility class or a search and rescue!
๐ Sensory: Stimulates sight, sound, and smell by having your dog watch dog T.V, or playing relaxing music for them.
๐ Physical: Change your dogs everyday by having them walk across a bench, or rotating their toys each month.
